A TROMBONE VIRTUOSO.THE BONE BIRD AND THE DOCK FLOCK BRASS - MAKIN' WAVES
As you may or may not know, the amazing Bonebird, whose given name is Morris Seagull, is a true phenomenon. He is a trombone virtuoso and has been featured on the two Main Stream Power Band CD's we have released. His pictures are prominently displayed on both CD booklets with MSPB. The fellow band members see him as, sort of, a mascot, which at first seemed all right. But, as with most young, gifted talents, he aspires to greater personal recognition. Before he was engaged in MSPB, he told us he was with the Basie Band, but they say they can't recall when. They also admit since he is so small, he just may have been overlooked. A bothersome slur he hasn't forgotten.
His talent is quite unbelievable, and this great ability needs to be shared by man and bird kind alike. So he gathered together some of his own crowd and made a demo. Bone submitted it to us, and to say the least, we have been overwhelmed with his new band and arrangements. It's an exciting, fun-time, party dance recording. Great sound, and with an extraordinary rhythm feel! It's a grabber!
Quite seriously, we believe we have a great small band recording, made by some excellent studio musicians, with some all time favorite standards. We also thought we would have some fun, and before we know it, the Bonebird and the Dock Flock Brass were born.
